Rachel M. Davis

Harmony Nutrition & Lactation, LLC

980-224-3748

Registered Dietitian & Lactation Consultant

Harmony Nutrition & Lactation, LLC seeks to educate and empower new and expectant parents of color to embrace good nutrition and breastfeeding as they thrive and adjust to their new norm. After working in a variety of settings for many years, Rachel noticed gaps in service for a number of families, but especially families of color. It was then that her passion for decreasing racial/ethnic health disparities and achieving health equity among all people emerged. After seeing an immense need, she wanted to create a space where the health of families of color was being addressed intentionally. Rachel makes every effort to build a supportive, informed and overall happier and healthier community through education, outreach, and support. Rachel offers preconception, prenatal, postpartum, infant, and preschool nutrition counseling as these are critical times in both a woman and a child’s life in determining health outcomes and developing habits. Rachel provides individualized care to each client and offers materials and tools to assist them in achieving their goals. She conducts one-on-one consultations and also has packages available for additional follow-up assessments. Rachel’s overall goal is to assist families of color in achieving more positive outcomes through early nutritional guidance, support, and education around relationships between food and health and to empower them to make the best possible nutrition and lifestyle-related decisions for their children and themselves. She is ready to help you reach your unique goals and believes it is so rewarding to see people get excited about taking charge of their own health!

Integrative & Functional Nutritionist and Doula

My name is Rebecca Duerr (pronounced DO-err). I am the founder of Mindful Family Wellness, Certified Labor Doula, Postpartum Doula, Certified HypnoBirthing® Childbirth Educator, a North Carolina Licensed Nutritionist, Certified Nutrition Specialist, and Certified Placenta Arts Specialist. I live just north of Charlotte, NC, in the Lake Norman area with my husband, 4 daughters, and lots of fur babies. As a doula and nutritionist whose practice serves the Charlotte and Lake Norman areas of North Carolina, I support birthing people improve their overall health, birth outcome, and mental wellness through the experiences of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. I use such tools and services as childbirth education classes, doula support through pregnancy, labor/birth and postpartum, as well as nutritional guidance and education for both mother and baby. Providing these services has been shown to increase positive birth outcomes, reduce cesarean section births, reduce postpartum mental disorders such as postpartum depression/anxiety (PPD/A) and postpartum post-traumatic stress disorder, (PPTSD) increase breast/chest-feeding success and duration, and strengthen the holistic health of both parent and child. As you can see, I offer a number of different services. As a NC Licensed Nutritionist, I provide integrative and functional nutrition counseling for the entire family. I also provide doula support, including pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I am a Hypnobirthing® childbirth educator and have new classes starting monthly. The beauty of providing these services is that I can help you in one area or in many. I can see you or your family for nutritional guidance. I can see you for pregnancy and birth support, as a doula. Or we can combine these services. The possibilities are endless. Please take a look around my website and reach out to me with any questions you might have or to set up a session or consultation. I look forward to hearing from you! Rebecca has a Master's of Science in Nutrition and Integrative Health, from the Maryland University of Integrative Health (MS). She is a North Carolina Licensed Nutritionist (LN) through the North Carolina Board of Dietetics and Nutrition and a Board Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS).
